Navratri 2020: Know the nine colours per day and their history Curious to know which colour to wear today? One of the most auspicious festivals in the Hindu Calendar - Navratri - is here. This year, the nine-day festival will begin from October 17th and end on October 25th or 26th (depending upon muhurat) with Vijayadashami. Worshippers will welcome Goddess Durga (in her different avatars) into their lives and pray to her for nine days at a stretch. The nine forms of Goddess Durga are - Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandharghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidathri. Durga, who is also known as Kali and Shakti, represents female power and emancipation. The festival begins today with Kalash sthapna or ghatasthapna. It marks the beginning (first day) of Navratri.
